Fussing over Cussing

Another short video from the Latino Book & Family Festival. In this one I talk about how peppery language in my novels has gotten me in trouble.

I'm a big fan of cussing when it's clear that only foul language will get the point across. Ask the husband and the kid, I can cuss a blue streak when the mood strikes and the moment is right. At the same time, I know when to zip it. That being said, I am a lot more conscious that some readers are put off by it and now only use it when the scene really calls for it. A little less cussing is not a bad thing, it just forces me to figure out another way to convey that my characters are pissed off. (By the way, I don't consider "pissed off" cussing.)
