Obligatory Acknowledgment: Harry Potter

OK, I couldn't let the day go by without acknowledging the whole last book in the Harry Potter series thing. And, no, I don't want to know any spoilers or even speculate on what might happen. I'm avoiding reviews and message boards and trying to figure out the logistics of keeping us in the dark with a copy in the house until we get around to reading it with the kid. We're on the last 100 pages of The Half Blood Prince and plan to keep the little bugger up until midnight so we can attend one of the parties at our local B&N. I even broke out the sewing machine and whipped him up a robe (looks rather cleric) and the husband whittled (WHITTLED!) him a wand from a tree branch in our backyard. It's the least the husband could do after he lost the kid's original wand, purchased at the Renaissance Fair, and which the kid had been sleeping with.

Either way, the whole point of this post is not to make the husband feel guilty, the kid has that covered, but to express my intense like and affection for Neville Longbottom, both the book and movie Neville. He's really an underrated character and I hope he plays a big part in the last book and gets more screen time in the next installments of the Harry Potter movies.
